What Did Richtofen Do to Maxis?
Ludwig Maxis and Dr. Edward Richtofen, two of the most important figures in the Zombies saga of Call of Duty: World at War and its sequels. While Maxis was known as the patriarch of Group 935 and a prominent figure in the world of scientific research, Richtofen was his nemesis and a cold-blooded sociopath with a lust for power and knowledge.
The question "What did Richtofen do to Maxis?" has a complicated answer. Throughout the Zombies story, Maxis and Richtofen have a love-hate relationship, often finding themselves in a deadly struggle for survival and dominance.
The origins of Maxis and Richtofen’s hatred date back to their earliest encounters. When Richtofen first arrived at Group 935, Maxis initially trusted him as a respected member of the team. However, their collaboration would not last for long as Richtofen soon discovered the secrets of Maxis’s experiments on zombies and seized the opportunity to manipulate them for his own gain.
Richtofen’s motives: Richtofen had his own plan for dominating the world. Using Maxis’s research and zombies, Richtofen intended to bring about an undead apocalypse, manipulating events from behind the scenes as Maxis’ closest assistant, Samantha. This catastrophic goal was met with disapproval by Maxis, who understood the devastation and chaos an apocalypse would unleash. Maxis ultimately decided to destroy his work, revealing the catastrophic plans to Samantha.
As their rivalry progressed, Maxis and Richtofen began to wage war in both the past and future timelines. The former discovered a way to manipulate his memories, and, subsequently, saw Maxis’ side of events unfolding while fighting back against Richtofen.
To counterbalance the destruction wrought by Richtofen and Samantha Maxis found another powerful ally: his estranged daughter Samantha Maxis, who took over after being possessed by her late mother’s undead zombie army (the Wehrwolf).
When Samantha arrived, she vowed to thwart her father Maxis’, together with his loyal crew members, but eventually faced against Richtofen; while Maxis worked at controlling the zombies, Richtofen manipulated Sam. So while Maxis managed her after her loss and with other allies Maxis; for the remainder, of Zombies, for that point to the most prominent ones at the heart.
