What Do Old Overwatch Owners Get?
As Blizzard Entertainment releases Overwatch 2, old Overwatch owners are eager to know what perks they’ll receive in the new game. In this article, we’ll dive into what previous Overwatch players can expect in the sequel.
Carryover of Skins and Cosmetics
One of the most exciting aspects for old Overwatch owners is that they’ll retain all their skins and cosmetics from the original game. This means that players won’t lose any of their customizations, including legendary and epic skins, icons, and sprays. This carryover is exclusive to Overwatch 1 players and cannot be transferred from other games or accounts.
Founder’s Pack Access
Old Overwatch players will have immediate access to the Founder’s Pack, which includes exclusive Overwatch 2 content, such as new heroes, hero skins, and other bonus items. The Founder’s Pack is only available to Overwatch 1 players, and its contents will remain unique to this group of players.
Access to New Heroes
As an added bonus, old Overwatch players will gain access to new heroes in Overwatch 2, including Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko. These heroes will not be available to new players who do not own the original game.

While old Overwatch owners will enjoy the aforementioned perks, there are some key differences to note between them and new players. New players will need to unlock new heroes, including Kiriko, through the battle pass.

As of now, the average age of an Overwatch player in OW2 is 30.9 years old, slightly younger than the average age of OW1 players, which was 32.3 years old.
