What Is the Pendulum Monster Rule?
In the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, the Pendulum Summoning mechanic is a core part of the game that allows players to summon more complex and powerful monsters. With the introduction of Pendulum Monsters, players can add a new layer of strategic depth to their deck-builds and gameplay. Here, we’ll explore what the Pendulum Monster Rule is and how it helps shape the game.
The Pendulum Monster Rule’s Purpose
What defines a Pendulum Monster
A Pendulum Monster card can be activated from the hand and performed not as a Monster effect, but as Spell Card. This marks a significant difference from Regular Monster cards, which follow different rules.
Can-only be activated as a spell
When activated, Pendant Monsters are treated as being in the Spell Cards zone. This designates them as one-time effects that require a specific activation condition; in this case, simply activating your Pendulum Monster card counts as the condition.
Important Notes:
• It cannot be Set in a Pendulum Zone Like Regular Monster cards, Ping Pong Monsters cannot rest in a Pendulum Monster Zone. This means its effect is temporary and applies only when activated.
• Effect is instant Once a Pendulum Monster is activated, this effect is resolved immediately when it is summoned. It does not trigger immediately when it is activated., but it can trigger its effect at any time following its activation.
