How Is Ganon Different from Ganondorf?
In the popular franchise of The Legend of Zelda, there are two dominant villains: Ganon and Ganondorf. Ganon is the beholder of the Triforce of Power, whereas Ganondorf is his Gerudo king form. People often confuse these two concepts, thinking they’re synonymous. However, as discussed in this article, the differences between Ganon and Ganondorf lie beneath the surface.
An Ancient Evil
One common misconception is that Ganondorf is the direct demon form of Ganon, but this is a simplification of his true nature. The difference lies in the aspect in which Demise manifests; Ganondorf’s incarnation is the result of retribution and hatred generated against the world, leading him to take on his original form as Ganon ([1]).
According to the ancient lore in Skryim, it would seem that Ganondorf is merely a host form for the malevolent curse of Demise; ultimately, he is destined for destruction, and we saw this play out throughout time.
