How Does Legion Timewalking Work?
Legion Timewalking is a recurring World Event in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic and Shadowlands, allowing players to participate in nostalgic and challenging old-content dungeons. In this article, we will dive into the details of how Legion Timewalking works, its requirements, restrictions, and benefits.
Timewalking Dungeon Event
A Legion Timewalking Dungeon Event typically occurs once every three weeks and lasts for 7 days. During this period, players can queue up for Timewalking dungeons from various expansions, including War of the Ancients, The Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, and Shadowlands.
Queue and Availability
To access the Timewalking queue, players need to be level 50 or above and possess an item level of at least 180. Additionally, Boosted Characters and Dracthyrs cannot access dungeons from War of the Ancients.
Class Order Hall and Legion Campaign
To participate in Timewalking, players must first complete Chapter One: The Legion Returns from their Class Order Hall, which unlocks the Timewalking Campaign. Once accessed, the campaign allows players to continue to level up and reach level 61, upon which they will be removed from Timewalking and teleported back to the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar. This is a requirement to transition to the Dragon Isles region.
Artifact Weapons
Upon entering the Timewalking queue, players can keep their Artifact weapons equipped throughout the Legion content if they choose the Legion Timewalking campaign from Chromie, located near the Stormwind Embassy or Orgrimmar Embassy.
Timewalking Specifics
Here are some key details and rules to keep in mind when partaking in Legion Timewalking:
Scaling: The power of your character is scaled down to make it more challenging and enjoyable, comparable to the original content.
Difficulty Level: Each Timewalking campaign is tailored to the original difficulty and intended for players with around level 50-60 gear.
Rewards: Defeating bosses and completing dungeons rewards Timewarped Badges, which can be exchanged for goods from Timewalking Vendors located in capital cities.
Why Do You Need to Leave Timewalking?
Players are removed from the Timewalking campaign when they reach level 61 to ensure a proper transition to the Dragon Isles content and to prevent potential game anomalies. This allows players to advance to the next stage of the game content, ensuring a seamless experience.
In summary, Legion Timewalking allows players to revisit nostalgic content from old expansions, with specific requirements, limitations, and rewards. By understanding these dynamics, you can make the most of this rewarding experience.
