Can you loot a bastion with invisibility?
When it comes to battling Piglins in Minecraft bastions, players often find themselves in a tough spot. These notoriously aggressive mobs can quickly turn any looting adventure into a hair-raising ordeal. However, clever players have discovered a nifty trick to making the process of lootin’ easier: the age-old trusty invisibility potions. But the question remains: does invisibility make looting Piglins possible, or should you keep exploring for alternative routes?
Can you loot with invisibility? The answer isn’t as straightforward as you might think
At first glance, it’s tempting to think that a simple glass of invisibility potion will solve all our Piglin-problems and allow us to safely plunder. Unfortunately, this assumption is only partly correct. As one of our sources aptly puts it, "When you attack a Piglin while using an invisibility potion, they can see you. This is even if you’re not wearing any armor and you have no item in your hand." Sounds like the initial excitement takes a sharp hit.
Important points to remember
To summarize the initial disappointment:
• Piglins can always see you if you’re attacking: Even if you’re invisible and not holding an item, attackers will spot you easily.
As we’ve found out earlier, there are some constraints to consider before going all guns blazing on these pesky Piglins.
How exactly do invisibility potions hinder looting attempts?
What’s key here is that Invisibility potions might not immediately render the Warden blind – but they also might not guarantee uninterrupted looting! Why? Well, the Warden’s detection radius depends on their proximity: it’s when you stay near enough that sparks their hearing sensitivity. 16 blocks out = no problems, 20+ blocks of distance = it’s a snooze for this Warden monster.
Tips to master the art of "loot-to-quit": Take heed; these tips could turn the tide to help you stay silent and unseen!
• Crouching or crouching & holding an unstackable, non-traditional crafting material works wonders against detecting vibrations (16+ blocks yield silence
• Try this: make sure the Wardens around you stay silent by going 16-20 block distances before they enter their dormant phases
The role of sound in determining Warden hearing distances: Wardens pick up vibrations but not silent air space. Airborne movements + vibrations give away position to Wardens. Make that silence mean something to save your, ahem, posterior!
Would you still rather try sneakily infiltrate the bastions? Take notes on each of the main points given below in their respective steps:
Can Creepers detect you even through barriers?
It isn’t straightforward, friends – fences make a Creeper happy in silence just like we learned about hiding from Warden!
• With 16 block buffers, airborne Creepers, and sneaking, you ensure a near noiseless assault on any barricade with a minimum of some 16+ block breathing room away.
There exist other situations where Invisibility potions truly shine!
Can you Crouch for silent movement from the darkness (Deep-Deep dark or cave edges)? Of course, you knew that part by now
• Moving up to deeper depths makes even the strongest vibrations become invisible. Here, avoid Warded areas within deep dark’s 8 block radius
The Dark Darkness Effect prevents Warden attention: Take advantage! Avoid the 17-20 blocks nearest and you see the "Loot for Life!"
Don’t expect to be perfectly "safe. If sneaking at 16 block distance the Warden, it simply won’t move there when you reach such a certain distance but never the opposite. Move carefully, and you stay concealed.
Your best move with Invisibility potions – is to:
• Find silent areas
• Explore (Deep Darks – crouches work fine when moving inside)
So, can looting happen successfully with just invisibility? We’ve highlighted the "Why Not Just Invis-Lo"?
With regards to some of our prior points there, when faced with no other optimal (or reasonable means) to survive, invisibility potions’ implied silence guarantees some benefits. Stay silent enough!
We’ve had that much as a sneak-to-loot strategy (Wardens, too close?
Looting a Warded Location for success? No (yet!), at least directly. Remember Wardens with some area to their left are completely silent around 16 – then 17 + blocks away: they ignore sound until you venture far enough off. As if you noticed, "When you notice the Warden walking away"… now make sure. For both WARDEN (deep dark proximity) – make sure, then (Warted Cave (16, Crouchet))! Remember the trick: don’t let them listen or make them a little. And you already know by the time for the game or your PC.
