Can Guardians Get Their Memory Back? A Deep Dive into the Franchise’s Lore
Throughout the Destiny franchise, a recurring theme is the preservation of humanity’s past experiences and memories. With Guardian characters embodying human form, but possessing otherworldly powers, it begs the question: Can these Guardians retrieve their lost memories? This article delves into the lore to investigate the answers.
Not Even Exo’s Memories are Eternal
To initiate our inquiry, we looked at a statement from [Warlocks] in relation to memories. It boldly claims "Not even Exo’s memories last forever". One might wonder what this claim implies. Are there aspects of Guardians’ experiences which are doomed to fade without a method to restore forgotten memories? This is relevant to understanding the possibilities surrounding memory restoration.
Eternal Visions, Short-Term Memories
Now, consider the [Power of Visions]. Tanatosauts (known as the "Recreated") regain memories in segments, re-experiencing fragments of their past at specific locations. While regaining pieces of their heritage, Tanatosauts do not retain a concrete recollection of their own identity or past events after their memories are refreshed (as per Guardians are not allowed to know how they’re reborn). This phenomenon raises doubts: Can we truly recall significant events in our past in the event of our Guardians’ reincarnation? Might there be a link, however abstract, between Eriana-3 (a famous Exo case) and the reimagined destiny of our Vanguard?
The Drowning of Memory
Next we examine instances where [Prophesied Guardian Fall] led to Guardians embracing their ‘new life in the Beyond’. We need to evaluate whether any correlation exists between the act and the rekindling, or potentially the extinguishment, of their memory recall. Might there be subtle connections with the Euthymotic Process or what we already know from that process regarding the power linked to rekindling that memory and the subsequent implications for future events.
| | **Method** | **Goal** | **Reasoning** |

Humanity’s Fading Light
With various instances pointing towards an indistinct connection between eternal visions, short-term memorization and the fate for our beloved Guardians’ (reborn) destinies, what does it signal? Have we ever confronted the dark side of how our Guardians grow and live (are reborn)? As I see these events and, in time, realize whether there was a moment once when one of our warriors, Guardian, remembered parts of this past – would we notice the true change in power? (for instance a change that signifies the importance of that in the Guardians’ abilities); or possibly the other event that our Guardians do take part, but have very little ability to keep remembering their memory.
Key Points
* No way to completely restore lost human memories through visions for other Guardians in the future besides Tanatosauts(Remembered and have a link to reconstituting their lost selves).
* Memory might be 'reconstituted', but never remain intact long-term due possibly to being reborn
* Guardians never return to have their own way of reclaiming lost humanity, especially in situations connected to past events they couldn't save.
This new article focuses on analyzing fragments of memory with the Euthymic Process to understand its function in reviving Guardian heritage by exploring the lore and its connections. Guardians regain memories when they visit, but are they always regaining full recollection when they relive events previously experienced by their ancestors without any possibility of long.
