Can two people counter the same spell?
The answer is unequivocally yes. In the world of magic, it is definitely possible for multiple individuals to counter the same spell being cast. This is indeed a powerful and fascinating feature of magical combat, adding a layer of complexity to the battlefield.
Multiclassing and Spell Duels
When two magicians of different classes possess the ability to counterspell, it can lead to a thrilling spectacle of casting and counter-casting spells. The Sorcerer can cast Counterspell alongside the Warlock, their spells overlapping and colliding in mid-air. One might cast a Cantrip, while the other counters it with a swift First Level Spell, and so on. With each counterspell, a new battle unfolds, filling the air with an interplay of magical forces and energies.
Spell Schools and Spellcasting
Many spells fall under the arcane, but not all counts as counterspells do. When a wizard crafts a Counterspell, it is not specific to any particular spell in the sense that it "knows" which way spells may end on hitting back. Thus, there does not have to be even a magical connection between you and your opponent’s intentions. So, yes again, your opponent may possibly put up the same counter the same as you and other people on the other magical forces side.
