As avid gamers, we often wonder and question the activities of our PS4 and PS5 friends. Whether they’re online or offline, we want to check if they’re playing the same game as ours or not. In this article, we’re going to explore the ways to check player activity on PlayStation, both online and offline.

Viewing Online Activity

To view the online status and activities of your friends on PlayStation Network (PSN), follow the steps below:

• Log in to the PS4 or PS5 console and launch the PSN app.
• Navigate to [Settings] > [Users and Account Managment] > [Privacy] or [Settings] > [Control Panel] > [Privacy] respectively.
• Scroll down to the [‘Who can see your online status?’ option and select the desired toggle to display your online status to ‘Gamers You’re Friends Who Have Played with You.

You can also check the online status directly from the PS4 or PS5 Quick Menu:

• Press (Square) on the controller to summon the Quick Menu.
• Select ‘Stay Connected to the Internet while the console is in Rest mode’;
• Select ‘Appear Online Status to Friends Who Have Played games with You’.

Viewing Current Playing Status

To view the detailed information of your friends’ ‘Current Playing Status’, follow this process:

• Go to "What’s New" section; click on the "ContentInfo" icon.
• Scroll down ‘Activity Feed’ and look up your friend’s name; you won’t see their activity status.

Viewing PS5 Hours Played

On the brand-new PS5 console, when you add a game to the hidden folder list, your activity in that game isn ‘t displayed to other players. Below is the step-by-step process from [Settings] > [Ctrl Panel] > [Privacy].

From PS5 Home Screen:

Select Appear Offline

If you want to become Offline before logging into your online PS5 account:
