Can you Escape from John in Far Cry 5?
In Far Cry 5, the story follows your character, known as the Junior Deputy, who has been sent to the Hope County region of the United States to bring the Three Brothers, Jacob, Jacob, and Faith Seed, to justice. Along the way, you come face-to-face with John Seed, a cult leader who has orchestrated the taking over of Hope County by his followers.
So, the question arises, can you escape from John Seed in Far Cry 5? The short answer is yes, but there are some circumstances involved.
What happens if you get captured by John Seed?
In the event that you do get captured by John Seed, he will take control of you and you’ll lose the ability to progress further in the game. The scenario is designed in a way that it doesn’t feel like a ‘dead’ end, rather an experience that allows players to get a glimpse of John Seed’s ideology.
Here are some tips and strategies to keep in mind when facing off against John Seed:
Try not to get cornered
John Seed and his allies are formidable foes, especially when they come to your location. Stay in an open area with ample cover and use this to your advantage.
Utilize your abilities and gadgets
Make the most of your Junior Deputy abilities and gadgets, such as taking down enemies quickly, dodging attacks, or sneaking past them unnoticed.
Team up with others (when possible)
Form a team with allies or AI-controlled characters when battling against John Seed. Having an additional pair of guns to deal with his goons will make the process less difficult.
Manage your supplies
Keep track of your ammo, medkits, and other consumables as you navigate through battles against John Seed.
Other ways to lose your sanity
Apart from facing off against John Seed directly, there are two additional circumstances where you could experience "capture" (and consequently, the world could crumble around you).
The first scenario (Jacob Seed) presents you with a moral choice to "resist" or "walk away". Should you choose to walk away, you won’t die, but it is also likely you will forever leave John Seed’s realm in favor of the fate offered in the story (details under the section [Walk away from the capture])
A second circumstance (during Eli’s execution scenario, and the countdown **) does not offer this sort of choice, unfortunately it implies that the chosen alternative ("resist or kill him") does no
