Does Deathloop have Fall Damage?

Getting Down to Business

Fall damage is a mechanic commonly found in games where environmental hazards are present, often leading to injury or elimination. The question remains whether Arkane’s stylish game, Deathloop, shares this feature. To investigate, let’s delve into the game’s world, explore the dangers of falls, and reveal whether Kolb Industries has any unpleasant surprises in store for our poor protagonists.

Understanding Falls in Deathloop

Jumping or being thrown off a building might be harmless in most games, but what about in Deathloop? Well, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that, indeed, there is fall damage in Deathloop. Whether the height or landing impact itself is enough to be deemed a danger to your existence remains uncertain.

Jumping and Landing in Deathloop

From personal experience and experimenting, I was able to consistently eliminate or seriously injure the Colt (player) model through fall damage, but, curiously, no additional damage occurred with multiple short jumps and minimal elevation drop-offs.

This got me wondering – Are low-altitude falls somehow neglected in terms of impact mechanics, while those above the critical point inflict serious repercussions?

Evidencia from In-Game Falls

Some cases did witness damage increase according to dropped heights (referenced video):
