Does Pokemon Have Save Files?

One of the most burning questions among Pokémon enthusiasts is: "Do Pokémon games have save files?" As of recent versions, Pokémon has traditionally maintained a unique stance on this matter, separating itself from other Nintendo game series.

Save files in early Pokémon games:

Initially, older games in the series only provided a limited option to play through with a single Pokémon. Unfortunately, it came with one major constraint – no individual save file allocation. A single, common save slot was designated as the de facto memory zone for both game files.

Traditional save feature absence:

For an overwhelming chunk of time, players using the save feature got zero flexibility: one, or none! In earlier entries, developers deliberately neglected specific save capabilities, a circumstance that gave rise to "save-and-leave-me-alone!"

Exceptions begin to arrive:
