Does Resilience Do Anything in PVP Destiny 2?
Initial Insight
Resilience has been a much debated topic in the world of Destiny 2. Its significance has sparked conversations and concerns among Guardians, especially when it comes to PvP playstyles. In this article, we’ll delve into what Resilience really offers, its limitations, and provide insights on its efficiency in PvP scenarios.
Damage Reduction and Effective Roles
Resilience significantly impacts damage reduction. Each additional point of Resilience reduces the player’s total damage taken. So, if a Guardian wears the maximum Resilience rating of 100+, their damage taken is proportionally reduced. In many scenarios, this bonus applies directly to their role-related strengths. For example,
• Tanks, already designed to take enemy focus, can mitigate most attacks with sufficient Resilience.
• Flaks (Super-Requiring Guardians) receive passive, increased Resilience at the cost of moderate Primary stat investment.
Consider that Resilience diminishes the overall harm these builds can absorb from regular gunfire. A perfect starting point for building or using resilience in PvP: think strategically about roles that inherently generate damage reduction to the already tanky setups; hence, prioritizing role performance over flat HP bumps becomes more significant than increasing maximum HP. Think you still need HP aswell though.
Sub-Foci and Counter-Secenarios
As of September 2022, you now have to rely a little more on allies but I’d argue less need Resilience than other roles given recent 30% reduced resistance impact. That leaves resilience. Here, with fewer threats, less overall enemy fire directed from Guardians, this effect tends not to shine with regards in PvE fights anymore either. That can take even more resilience importance even to the table
and the way enemy ai currently works you no worries anymore. With recent expansions they’ve improved. While for now Resilence now become stronger at 7
than at 9 resilisence
; meaning maxing it up seems reasonable. Herein,
resilience offers: you’ll never face situations from which enemy threats die due.
for me it would.
