How do Link Monsters work?

Definition and Explanation
A Link Monster is a type of Monster Card in the Extra Deck, introduced with the implementation of the OCG [Original Card Game] from the March 2017 Booster Packs to the Modern Format in February 2018. Link Monsters do not have defense points (DEF) and cannot ever be in Defense Position. In the Extra Deck, only Link Monsters can exist; they do not interact with the Field or any player’s Extra Deck directly.
