To unlock Godrick’s Great Rune, you will first need to defeat Godrick the Grafted, a powerful boss found in the Limgrave Region of the Elden Ring game world. However, simply defeating him is not enough; you must then activate his Great Rune by climbing the Limgrave Divine Tower.

Climbing the Divine Tower

To reach the Limgrave Divine Tower, follow the path south of Godrick’s lair until you come across a giant troll. Then, head southeast through the courtroom area until you reach a short staircase that leads to another courtyard. This is where the tower is located, marked by a signpost directing you towards it.

Restoring the Power of Godrick’s Great Rune

Once inside the Limgrave Divine Tower, you will need to restore the power of Godrick’s Great Rune by speaking to the desiccated fingers, a strange-looking figure in the center of the room. After selecting the correct dialogue options, Godrick’s Great Rune will be reactivated and granted to you.

The Importance of Equipping the Great Rune

Remember that equipping the Great Rune is crucial, but the benefits you gain from it do not immediately take effect. You must use a Rune Arc to harness the power of the rune. Unfortunately, the effects of a Rune Arc only last until you die or quit the game, and then it resets.
