Hades, the popular roguelike dungeon crawler, offers a wide range of weapons and aspects for players to uncover. These aspects can drastically change the gameplay experience and provide significant advantages in your runs. In this guide, we will cover everything you need to know to unlock the final aspects of each weapon in Hades.
Understanding the Mechanics
Before we dive into the details, it’s essential to understand the mechanics involved in unlocking aspects. Every weapon has its unique abilities and unlock conditions, but there are a few shared mechanics across all weapons. Here’s a brief rundown:
- Chthonic Keys: These mysterious keys can be found randomly throughout the underworld and serve as a requirement for unlocking aspects. You’ll need a minimum of one Key to access the first level of aspect and up to three for the highest-tier aspects.
- Titan Blood: This precious blood can be obtained through certain means (we’ll go over these later) and is necessary for upgrading certain aspects to the highest tiers.
- Prophecies: Prophecies are clues left by mysterious figures throughout the underworld that hint at the locations and conditions needed to unlock particular aspects. Pay attention to these if you want to maximize your chances of discovery.
Unlocking Aspect of Each Weapon
Spears
Hades has two Spears – the Aegis and Varatha, both of which have two aspects each.
Aspect of Guan Yu
To unlock Aspect of Guan Yu:
- Hold a Spear-equipped Zagreus and start a run
- Acquire 1 Chthonic Key
- Hold a Spear-equipped Zagreus with a Titan-filled Heart of the Underworld
- Speak with the Furies; they’ll offer a vision of a way to prove yourself in combat
With these requirements met, accept the Prophecy to learn the next steps.

Hades has two Fist weapons: the Brinki and Vankham Kri and Rhea Rake of Hades).
Aspect of Lucifer (Exclusive to the Fists of the Kalliopie)
To unlock Aspect of Lucifer:
- Collect 1 Adamant Skins
- Talk to Charon in his shop in the Boatman’s Court
Once achieved, a prophecy will help you Unite With the Father, unlocking Level 2. This further requires three Titanic Bloods and accepting a conversation with the Nymph on Mount Olympus while wielding either the Brinki or Rake.
