How effective is gold armor?
Not at all
Gold is not a suitable material for crafting armor in any adventure game, including Minecraft or Terraria. In fact, gold armor is relatively the weakest armor available in these games. Considering the properties of gold in various games, we need to understand why it shouldn’t be used for combat or protection.
Durability
Gold armor will provide little to no durability in the events of a battle. Players are likely to suffer continuous damage, and the protection from gold armor will cease. In contrast, there are other materials, netherite stands out, which can even grant temporary fire resistance! You can also find rarer materials like emeralds, which offer high strength and durability.
Another disadvantage of gold armor involves the high weight. Gold is not like titanium or steel, you will not find gold items scattered around the map casually; you need to carefully choose the right places; sometimes, you have too too much weight, make traveling and movement harder).
Gold armor also hampers movement speed with every piece equipped on an armor set. Although movement speed is a very critical aspect of any quest.
Protection
One thing that might lead inexperienced players to believe that Gold Armor is effective is an illusory protection benefit. Gold armor indeed looks good, it certainly attracts attention, but offers virtually no protection against foes, unlike other armor we reviewed.
