Is Morrigan a Demon?
Morrigan is a fascinating character with origins dating back to Celtic mythology and has since become a powerful and iconic figure in popular culture. Born out of the ancient myth, she has evolved to appear in various forms, mediums, and adaptations, causing immense excitement among her fanbase. But the question persists – is Morrigan truly a demon?
Mythological Origins
From an ancient Celtic mythology context, Morrigan was said to be a pòg, or tripartite goddess, holding Macha in its warrior aspect, Badb as her harpy aspect, and Nemain for battle frenzy. Trasna, in Scottish Celtic mythology, Fiacha, the sea-hued goddess, or others of the goddess-matter-mother trinity: Cailleach (The old woman) / Queen / Goddess of Forn-Sith.
