Nintendo: The Legacy

Nintendo, also known as "hanafuda," was originally founded by Fusajiro Yamauchi in Kyoto, Japan. The company’s primary goal was to produce hand-painted decks of Japanese playing cards known as Hanafuda (literally, "flower cards"). This unique blend of poker and solitaire cards gained popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, laying the foundation for Nintendo’s success.

However, the company wasn’t directly involved in video games until the early 1980s when they saw an opportunity in the newly emerging market. In 1980, Nintendo launched the arcade video game Radar Scope, followed by their breakout hit Super Mario Bros. in 1983 for the Family Computer (Famicom) and Entertainment System (NES). Since then, Nintendo has remained a gaming giant, synonymous with some of the most iconic games and franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon.

PlayStation: A Modern Story

PlayStation, a Japanese electronics corporation, was founded in 1946 under the name K.K. Teleplay Co. At that time, they mainly produced TVs, radios, and other electrical components. But, in 1988, the company launched a brand called Sony (not the well-known multinational conglomerate, but a different one founded in 1915!) under the CEOship of Akio Morita and Masaru Ibuka.
