Is Silver the Lowest Rank in CS:GO?
As gamers, we all aspire to climb the ranks of Master Guardian, Supreme Master 1, and above, never to look back on those grueling days when every match felt like an Everest to conquer. While getting to the top echelon of CS:GO’s ranking system is tough and requires dedication, determination, and a dash of bad luck, there exists, at the bottom end, a rank that new, struggling players are not alone in their despair; introducing, quite conveniently, Silver tier.
The Origin: Silver 1 vs Beginner Ranks
Interestingly enough, the CS:GO Community Forums had debated upon renaming the beginner ranks or incorporating a new, low-intensity rank between " Beginner and Prime statuses.[6*" This proposal would be renamed "Silver 1/2" or more conveniently, "Recruitable" to help better divide the skill gap." From this, it transmutes that the creation was not a sudden fix made by Valve but resulted by the community’s idea proposed to Valve, proving why Silver 1 tier takes the cake for an exclusive rank.
