History of Nether Biomes
Prior to the Minecraft’s update, the Nether had only one major biome – the Nether Wastes. This harsh and barren landscape was plagued by Netherrack, a type of hardened obsidian that made travel nearly impossible. The game also introduced the Crimson Forest and Warped Forest in its latest update, called The Nether Update, in June 2021.
New Nether Biomes
So, to answer the question: Yes, there are now more biomes in the Nether. The Warped Forest and Crimson Forest biomes were added with The Nether Update. Both biomes have distinct characteristics and features that distinguish them from the Nether Wastes.
