What did Queen Marika do?
Queen Marika is a pivotal figure in the world of Elder Ring, serving as a central character in the midst of the Lands Between’s complex web of power struggles, intrigue, and conflict.
Removal of The Rune of Death
King Marika’s most well-known act is the one that changed the course of the Lands Between’s future: the removal of The Rune of Death from the Elden Ring. This pivotal decision sought to break free from Destined Death’s hold. Why was this vital? You see, Destined Death had gripped the Lands Between for generations, predestining its inhabitants according to an otherworldly script. Queen Marika sought to shake off The Golden Order bound by the power of choice and destiny, opting against an ordained future. Not only did she sever Fate’s chains, but as well, freed her allies, like the demihumans.
Radagon and The Golden Lordship
Prior to assuming her position, Marika had married Godfrey III, First Elden Radagon the Golden Emperor, an unprecedented event under the rule of the Marika line. Their match sparked hope from a population in bondage! By her example, there seemed to exist an oasis amidst the void. Unaware of what the Fates held for her unborn offspring, Godfrey grew weak as their sonhood drew closer.
Power Vacuum and Coup
Marika discovered the extent of her husband’s frail and impending downfall and thus did the most unforeseen outcome arise: She, rather than him, seized sovereignty and ruled alongside God-Ascended as A.
This, alongside other acts that shaped historical outcomes. So, was there something between Godfire III, first Elda Elden’s Emperor… and her ‘ husband’ to Godfire?
