What Does Carlos Do After RE3?
In the Capcom game Resident Evil 3, Carlos Oliveira, the skilled mercenary, accompanies Jill Valentine as they work together to stop the Nemesis and prevent the further spread of the T-Virus. As the duo manages to destroy the evidence of the viral outbreak at the Spencer Memorial Hospital and escape the hellish scenarios of Raccoon City, the question arises about what Carlos does after surviving the ordeal. This article aims to uncover the different appearances and involvements Carlos has in subsequent Resident Evil games and additional media, shedding light on his after RE3 trajectory.
Leaving Raccoon City
Carlos in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles:
For the first glimpse of what Carlos does after RE3, we head to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, where Carlos is revealed to play a significant role. During this scenario, "Raccoon’s Destruction", Carlos is featured as one of the protagonists, highlighting his involvement with the BSAA (BSAA operatives) and assisting Jill, his partner-in-crime. This mini-game acts as a refresher regarding Carlos’s importance in fighting against Umbrella Corporation after the events in RE3.

Carlos’ Later Ventures
Nikolai’s Interrogation:
Within the span of Resident Evil 5, Nikolai Ginovaeff destroys the Umbrella Corporation evidence at Spencer Memorial Hospital (which Jill and Carlos rescued) – this act eliminates any opportunity for further use of biological warfare. Later, an investigation reveals this was motivated by Nikolai’s involvement with the Soviet Union – Leon and friends would later interact with them. This indicates Carlos continues his work related to eradicating any remnants of Umbrella from the playing field.
No Concrete Information
Post- RE3, a void surrounds Carlos’s exploits. Any additional information surrounding his further actions remains a mystery (as of Resident Evil 6 in 2012). Even Resident Evil VII: Biohazard’s release brought no indication of Carlos appearing. Perhaps he has slipped into another shadowy identity or the shadows themselves await further excavation.
Focusing On His Past & The Consequences
We have covered what Carlos might be occupied with after escaping Raccoon City within the canon, but in other storylines, attention is put on his early history alongside other characters: his pre-RE2 backstory within the Kaze Henjin saga and dealing with the post- T-Virus contamination aftermath under Resident Evil Fandom content.
Keep in mind any details past Resident Evil VI are part of supplementary media, outside the Capcom narrative. Since then, the franchise appears to diverge from incorporating Carlos anymore.
