What is the Alliance Expedition to Draenor?
The Alliance Expedition to Draenor is a significant episode in the history of warcraft’s lore, shaping the events that unfolded afterward. In the aftermath of the Second War, the League of Neutral Cities, aided by King Anduin Lorewalker Wrynn III, ventured into the treacherous world of outland (Draenor) with the goal to reclaim the Book of Medivh.
Goal of the Expeditions:
The original goal was to retrieve and prevent Ner’zhul, an elder shaman, from acquiring the Book. This relic held immense potential power. The Alliance thought that keeping it out of Ner’zhul’s hands could prevent the Horde, led by Shattered Hand, from connecting with Gul’dan across the dark portal. Once united, they would embark on their destructive path threatening Azeroth.
Invading Outland
Leading the assault was the Illidari, a prominent group comprised of blood-mage humans, led by Anduin Wrey, Lord of the Mists (a.k.,. Shimmering Way). Supported by the Stormwind Legion, they had to ensure the success to stop these dark forces gathering momentum behind the veil. Their arrival in Outworld marked the beginning stage of destruction.
These brave humans, under Queen Tandria’s guide, led the charge facing twisted creatures made of magma and corrupted fel-infused monsters under the command on the undead, led Krulnir. Some notable accomplishments include:
✦ Encountering undead, dark-elf undead, twisted creatures, (and/or) corrupted undead.
• Captivate the portal and preventing Ner’zhul escape.
Despite their valance, faced with multiple fronts at once, losses mounted alongside the relentless tides.
Conclussion on the Alliance: The league’s expedition could not turn the tide fast enough
