What Level Should I Start Doing Dungeons ESO?
When it comes to enjoying the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), participating in dungeons is one of the most exciting activities for any player. But with over 200 dungeons and Veteran trials to conquer, choosing when to start them can be overwhelming. So, when is the perfect time to start tackling those tougher adventures?
Getting to Level 10 – A Strong Recommendation
Although dungeons can be entered at any level, it is crucial to reach Level 10 before engaging with more challenging content. Not only will you feel a bit more confident about entering tougher dungeons, but also:
- Gain Basic Dungeon Mechanics: Your skillsets will be stronger and you’ll understand crucial tactics needed for dungeon survivability.
- Increased Skill Ceiling: Level 10 players have more capabilities for complex spell interactions and combat strategies, improving success rates.
- Strengthen Relationships with Alliances: Easing yourself into dungeon adventuring before diving into extreme settings.
Familiar Zones with Lower-Level Dungeons (5-12)
Here’s a list of essential locations for early adventures. Consider exploring these:
- Fungal Grotto 1, 2, & 3 (in Stonefalls zone):
- Fungal Grotto 1 for first-time players (~E level)
- More difficult Fungal Grotto 2-3 after reaching E, EC, or EH-level gear
- Banished Cells in Auridon:
- These dungeons offer E-MO-level challenges in E-Level gear
- MO-level difficulties provide tough learning experiences
No EH-level experience will hurt, but your experience should be around or less
- Spindleclutch I-II, Shadowfen, or other Low-Level Dungeons (~15-level):
These require higher-level gear E-F for easier runs with mid-teen levels as base skills.
Before Confronting the Shadows and VMA (25+, High-Level Dungeons) at
Level 45 – 50+, then High-Level Dungeons should present minor challenges. Ensure::

- Understanding Boss abilities and tactics
High-end gear with all perks utilized (as if High-MO, the latter only if necessary in harder raids)

Additional Guidelines Before Venturing Higher Difficulty Levels:

Always consider group experience factors to help others through; understanding of dungeon fights: A group of individuals ready, prepared, experienced from before.
Avoid premature or reckless jumps: (VMA and very Low or No gear players’ efforts)
