When it comes to Pokémon, shineys are always a great catch for fans. Out of the 891 identified Pokémon species, about 1% are believed to be shinys in the wild. In addition to being relatively rare, shinys have become the ultimate bragging rights in the Pokémon community. Players are constantly searching for more shinys to add to their collections.
But if you’re thinking that "rare" implies absolute scarcity, you might need to reconsider. Not only are shinys difficult to find, but the odds against finding one in the first place are daunting. Imagine rolling a dice 144 times before finally getting 1-14 in front of you; that’s roughly the equivalent of your chances of stumbling upon a shiny.
Now, given the immense excitement and popularity of shinys, have you ever wondered which shimmering critter takes top honors as the rarest of them all?
