Who is the Dragon in TotK?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) has finally arrived, and with it comes the question on everyone’s mind: who is the dragon in TotK? Spoiler alert: I’m about to reveal all you need to know.
The Immortal Ones: Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra
In Breath of the Wild (BOTW) and TotK, we see three (or four, depending on the argument) dragons. They’re immortal, and each is named after one of the Golden Goddesses: Din, Farore, and Nayru. We have:
• Dinraal, the Fire-Wind Dragon
• Farosh, the Ice-Breath Dragon
• Naydra, the Thunder-Fear Dragon
Zelda as the Light Dragon
And then, there’s another dragon that’s definitely noteworthy: Princess Zelda. In her Secret Stone form, Zelda takes on the form of the Light Dragon. Yes, you read that right. She swallows the stone to become a powerful, immortal dragon, infusing the damaged Master Sword with holy power to allow it to recover and gain strength.
The Importance of the Dragons
Dragons play a significant role in the Zelda series. Each dragon represents a balance that needs to be maintained: fire, ice, thunder, and light. Throughout the series, Link needs to find a balance within himself to defeat Calamity Ganon.
In TotK, these balances are crucial to maintaining peace in Hyrule. When the dragons are weakened, the land suffers.
The Dragons’ HAbits and Locations
Where can you find the dragons in TotK?
- Naydra Path and Location: Patrol the great Mount Lanayru, and you can catch Naydra near Kakariko to Hateno and then looping underground. They can also be seen patrolling the Faron Grasslands to the right of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
- Farosh Location: Expect to find Farosh around the Faron Grasslands, near the Lake Hylia area. Just head east from Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and look for the water!
The Shrines’ Secrets
Did you know that there are 152 Shrines in TotK? Yes, all throughout the surface of Hyrule and the Sky Islands high above. Each of these Shrines contains challenging puzzles that require you to maintain the balance between elements – just like the dragons represent.
Conclusion: Why the Dragons Matter in TotK
In this revised edition of the Dragon-in-TotK conundrum, we discovered more about the importance of dragons in the Zelda universe, including their roles and interactions with the balance and their locations in TotK.
So, the answer remains: Zelda becomes the Light Dragon when swallowing her Secret Stone to channel holy power and maintains the balance within. By understanding the dragons, including Naydra, Farosh, and Dinraal, we can truly comprehend the significance of each component in the TotK adventure.
