Why Can’t I Do Timewalking on My Alt?
The popular Timewalking feature in World of Warcraft is an exciting way to play through older content, level up your characters, and even earn rewards. However, some players may find that they are unable to Timewalk on their alternative (alt) characters. If you’re experiencing this issue, you’re probably wondering why you can’t participate in Timewalking with your alt. This article will provide you with a comprehensive guide to answer your question and help you get started with Timewalking on your alt characters.
Minimum Requirements
The first and most critical requirement to participate in Timewalking is to ensure your character meets the minimum level and item level thresholds. Level 60 and item level 180 or higher are the requirements to queue for Timewalking dungeons. You must also have a Battle.net account and have not set your account to require level 70 to be considered for Timewalking. If your character fails to meet these requirements, you will not be able to participate in Timewalking.
Hidden Restriction
Another important but less obvious restriction is related to the Evoker specialization. If you are playing an Evoker specialization, you will be restricted from participating in Timewalking for 24 hours after creating your alt. This restriction is implemented to prevent exploitation and ensure a fair experience for all players.
Chromie Timewalking
- Level 70 characters: You can’t do Timewalking from a level 70 character because it’s not compatible. You need to log off and create a different character to access Timewalking.
- Pre-60 characters: Timewalking is unlocked when you reach level 60. If your pre-60 character is 25-29, and the expansion is available.
Timewalking Availability
Timewalking campaigns are available for level 60 characters who have completed the Battle for Azeroth or a later expansion. Some exceptions apply, such as:
- Expansion locked: You can still level up in the chosen expansion, but you might encounter some limitations.
- Level boost: You can use Level Boost to reach level 50, but you may miss some storylines. If you’re not able to level up in all zones, you can restart after reaching level 50.
- Level Sync: You can level with another character in the expansion that you’ve already visited the zone.
