Why Can’t I Mine Gold in Minecraft?
The thrill of discovery in the world of Minecraft! For many players, nothing excites them more than stashing treasures underground or gathering raw materials to create valuable crafting recipes. So, the question on every adventurer’s mind is, What lies beneath the golden layers? Unfortunately, if your experience is similar to what we’ll outline in this article, it seems there’s a recurring pattern:
Gold ore simply can’t be mined in its raw form, except through certain means!
The Golden Riddle Solved
According to Minecraft: FAQ’s explanation, "Gold requires an iron pickaxe or better to harvest. Gold ore will be dropped but nothing if any other pickaxe is used". This leaves you thinking, "Hey, if I have all these nifty pickaxes lying around, why is this crucial piece of tech – in the form of the ‘Iron Pickaxe’ – required to harness this hidden wealth?"
For all Minecraft fans, novices, or oldbies, this reality should hit home: that, just like in World exploration, the Gold Mine expedition isn’t over without more digging (irony)!
Behind the Mysterious Veil of Time
Underneath Nether Quartz Mines and its brethren, within that specific geological layer you once stashed your trusty sword and shield ("Hey, I left those two in the forest just south of the volcano"), what seems like, it feels like an alien artifact appears – an ordinary nugget of the shimmering golden ore (Nuga, 18kt)". Yes these Nuggies are precious or are they mere fossils leftover from the Golden age.**
If those Golden nuggets did materialize, just know our story is one more where "the minefield begins".
There will certainly be more reasons given beneath.
