When it comes to crafting the essential Adamantite or Titanium Forge in Hardmode Terraria, one of the required items is the Hellforge. Breaking Hellstone Forge is crucial in order to obtain the necessary ingredients to craft the coveted crafting stations. But the question arises, how do you break Hellstone Forge?

Required Hammer Strength

Before breaking the Hellstone Forge, you will need to equip yourself with a suitable hammer that is capable of delivering at least 60% of hammer power. Failure to possess such a hammer will lead to an inability to destroy the Hellstone Forge, rendering you stuck and progress-less in your hard-mode journey. A strong Hammer is necessary for two major reasons: Firstly, as mentioned, the requirement is 60% or better hammer power. Secondly, the Hammer strength allows it to crush and remove large blocks like the Hellstone Forge. In a case where the block becomes problematic, it may help get rid of any barriers with ease.

Deathbringer or Nightmare Pickaxe

Another crucial point is you do not have a regular Mining Pickaxe capable of harvesting Hellstone or worse an Obsidian or Ancient Tool. Your Mining tool becomes a limiting factor on various levels and mining depths.
